About
My name is Jon Mann. For the past three years I’ve written very little, consumed myself jumping from writing project to writing project, with the guise that I am a writer! I still am a writer. But I need to focus on writing and not the profession of writing. I have been putting the cart before the horse as they say.
This site will be my blog, my journal of sorts to build my writing life. To build content over quality at first, but maybe with some practice and some guidance I’ll reverse that along the way. I have spent hours reading about how to blog, how to write, how to get a magazine printed or how to pick what to blog about, all of which are helpful but has not given me much to show for my efforts.
So what will I write about? Family, work, sports, politics, music, travel, the south, the north, international affairs, history, what ever hits me as a viable topic to explore for myself or topics that provide information or insight to others.
So why should anybody take my word for it? Honestly, I have no idea! But what I can offer is that I am a father of three, have been happily married for almost 25 years, have traveled throughout Asia, Latin America, Europe, and North America. I have planned million dollar projects, and bagged groceries for a living. I was born and raised in “the south”, if you can call Florida “the south”, but have lived in the north and hale from a family of northern Irish Catholics. I come from a somewhat dysfunctional family but I think that goes hand in hand with being southern, and catholic. I have been a runner, a triathlete, a fitness buff who lost 45 pounds a few years back and has slowly put most of it back on. I like to cook, but mostly like to eat! I could go on about anything from pets to life goals, but I think you have the highlights.
So based on this background of mine, I will offer up my insight to anyone that cares to listen, and while this site will take a more editorial approach at times I will always keep the facts as I understand them in mind, and strive to provide the best content I can possibly provide.
Sincerely, Jon Mann
